D is for Dog

Another simple letter.

I love dogs - one being my beautiful cockier-spaniel, Lacey.  She's eleven years old and I absolutely love her.  She's a pretty girl.

Lacey's Thanksgiving (or attempt at stealing the turkey)

Still playing like a puppy
When I'm a little older and I don't live in an apartment, I'd love to get a Beagle - they are my second favorite type of dog!!

Just look at that adorable face!  I might wanna name him Porthos (bonus points if you can guess the reference)

What type of pet do you have?

  4. Lacey is a beautiful dog, I love her colouring.

Beagles are my second favourites dogs after Pugs. Have you seen the Beagle/Pug cross, Puggles? They're gorgeous.

  5. Ah, Porthos, Captain Archer's Beagle. I love the episode "A Night in Sickbay" where Porthos is sick and Dr. Phlox has him in sickbay so Archer goes down there and the bat gets loose.

If I get a dog, we're getting a Scottie and naming it "Montgomery Scott"

I've already named the water frog I had in college Phlox.

    1. Ding ding, you're right! :) I love the episode too - you get to see the friendship between a man and his dog and get to hear more about Phlox. That would be very cute to have a Scottie named Montgomery Scott! A water frog named Phlox, very fitting!

    1. Thank you Christine. She is really sweet, but she did just steal the puppy's dinner. She's a bit of a thief when it comes to food. Lacey also stole a bite of my little brother's sandwich out of his hand tonight.

  13. What a beautiful dog. I have 2 American Eskimos (Spitz) and one Husky. I had 10 at one point, including 2 greyhounds that were just amazing. I also Have a cat named PoW (Piece of Work) I don't have human kids, but I do consider the furry ones to be my babies.

  15. Your dog is so cute.

My dog is a sociopath, although the nicest dog when he's at home with the kids and visitors alike - walkies is a nightmare for the both of us though.

    I'm touring through the A-Z list. I'm #142!

  18. I love your blog title--and yes, writing is like jelly beans...I can't tell you the number of times I've sat down to write about a certain topic and it's come out completely different than I thought it would.

RE: dogs--I've heard people say that beagles have "difficult" personalities...but our beagle Jenny is the best dog we've ever had. She has the sweetest and most fun and loving personality!

Checking you out from the A to Z Challenge! Glad I stopped by!

    1. Thank you Shelly. I really love jelly beans and it just seemed fitting since you really can get bad ones (black jelly beans) and they look like the grape ones. I've started out writing something and it ends completely different. It just happens! :)

I've heard that about beagles too, but beagles are like us. We can have difficulties too. :) Your beagle Jenny sounds wonderful! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Lacey likes to think that she's a person and she frequently tries to sit on my lap at the dinner table. Dogs are so silly when they try to run the house. Thanks for visiting! :)

  21. Years ago we had a cocker spaniel-- beautiful dogs! We have also had a beagle/retriever cross. She had a wonderful temperament and was very cute! I have a cat right now, but am considering a labradoodle. They are supposed to be the calmest dogs and they don't shed! :)
