G is for Goonies

Pirates - bad guys that make counterfeit money - Sean Austin - booby traps - treasure - a band of crazy kids that call themselves The Goonies!

This is one of my favorite old movies!  It's actually my go-to movie.  When I'm tired or bored or had a long day, I pop in The Goonies (1985).  My older sister, Stephanie, used to watch it with me all the time and we would quote the dialogue to each other.  I admit that my friends think it is stupid, but I love this movie!

Here's one of my favorite parts:

Have you seen "The Goonies" and loved it or hated it? :)

  6. I suspect I am the only 80's child who hasn't seen The Goonies. I was all about The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth then. =)

    1. But Labyrinth is a great movie too. :) Nothing is better than David Bowie and Dance Magic Dance. :)

  7. I loved it and still do, and could probably quote the script throughout the film. My favourite line..the next time we see sky, it will be over a different town, it always makes me laugh because the whole speech is so cheesy.

    1. That line is ridiculous! Party because the next time they actually see sky, it is over the ocean after they escape from the falling rocks. Still probably part of the same town. Very cheesy! I can quote the whole thing too!

  8. Oh, my golly, I love that movie. I can't say it's my ALL TIME fav but When I watch it I definitely enjoy it like I did the very first time I saw it.

When I was in 9th grade, my French teacher had us watch in in French. I understood nothing that was said but luckily had seen it before to know what was going on. But hey, it got me out of memorizing vocabulary throughout the class period. haha

  9. My movie like this is The Thomas Crowne Affair, the remake w/ Pierce Brosnan. It's my total mental escape - I want his house in the Caribbean.

  10. I love the Goonies, as well as other great movies of the era like Back to the Future and - maybe less well known now - Flight of the Navigator. Always nostalgic to watch!

  13. The Goonies, in my opinion, is one of the greatest adventure movies ever! I remember seeing this film as a child and falling in love with it immediately. Have you ever seen the version with the octopus?! It's incredibly hard to find, but worth it. In addition, if you ever make it to the Oregon Coast, head to Cannon Beach and you can see where the actors wrote on the sea wall. Pretty sweet. Great post!

    1. I have no seen the version with the octopus, but I did find the scene somewhere and watched it. That one line that Mouth says to Stef makes sense now. :) I would love to go there and see where they wrote on the wall!

  15. I love THE GOONIES! They have been talking for years and years about making a sequel, but I don't know how they could pull it off without tarnishing the first one! :)

    1. I don't think they could make a sequel now. It wouldn't be the same with out Josh Brolin, Sean Austin, and everyone else!

  17. This is like a cult fave. And yeah, I'm a part of that cult. Goonies was THE movie to watch, mostly when parents weren't around cause they didn't get how great it was/is.

Man, now I got to get my Goonies fix on.
