H is for Hippos

Pretty self-explanatory.  I love hippos. :)

Those are my best fuzzy friends!  From left to right:  Bert (if you watch NCIS, yes that is the farting hippo - he's awesome), Lancelot, Emmy, Bert Jr., and the big blue one in the back is Chubby.  (Hank is not pictured, he actually sneaked into day P)

Not strange though, Chubby has actually shown up in three out of four of my novels.  Everyone has to love a cute blue hippo named Chubby. ;)  Well, maybe not, but he's cute.  Don't judge me - I'm a kid at heart and if I get married someday, they will probably go in the closet. :)

Do you have any stuffed animals?

Also, H is for Happy.  I hope that you all had a Happy Easter yesterday!  I wanted to share with you my favorite pictures from our family get-together. :)

I love this; I might crop it and make it a book cover

H and A hunting for eggs

We traded headbands!

I am the green lantern and this is the evil Dr. Fluffy-face

Wait, Lacey is the green lantern?

Have a Happy day!

  1. My daughter has plenty, including a giant red hippo that she's had since she was born. Originally it was about four times her size, but she's grown into it. :)

  3. LOVELY. I adore soft toys and have far too many, considering how old I am! I also adore hippos - in fact my first H blog is about them - they are endangered. I did two H blogs as i forgot and posted on Sunday! A hippo poem as well.

In case you are interested, I'm leaving you my A-Z link as blogger
always identifies me as my shared blog with other poets - my A-Z is this one: http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com

  5. I have this stuffed dolphin I used to take everywhere. I still have him tucked away on a high shelf so the kids don't get to him. :D

  8. Great pics!
Stuffies are the best! I have a few that I treasure. A pig and some little teddy bears. My husband gave me a little red teddy holding onto a heart-- for Valentine's Day one year. How could I ever part with that? :)

  9. Cute photos, especially the mysterious masked dog! I love hippos too. They seem so awkward on the ground, yet so at peace in the water.

  10. Great photos. I don't think us adults ever get too old for stuffed animals. I still have a Snoopy and an alligator and ... you get the picture. I'm 49 and my husband, while not as big a fan of stuffed animals as I am, has allowed me to put them up high (because they are safe away from the dog and because they aren't as visible when company comes over.) Have a great day! Love your writing. www.dianeweidenbenner.com

  12. Gorgeous photo's, I also had the fun of an easter egg hunt! Hippos's are great, I like the pink one as it reminds me of George from Rainbow. I am currently obsessed (like mad woman crazy obsessed) with getting a stuffed Gonzo :)

  13. Around here penguins live...tons and tons of penguins. They belong to my Mom. I used to collect dolls but have very few of them left. However, Snoopy does seem to rule the roost in my bedroom. lol
Fun post and love that one pic!

  14. I do not have my own stuffed animals; my 30 yr. old daughter left hers here, though. My grandchildren let me 'borrow' one now and then. "Here, Gramma! You can sleep with Max/Icicle/Tex tonight, but you gotta bring it back 'morrow, 'kay?" So I guess I do have borrowed stuff animals.

  15. I've got tons of stuffed animals, and have gotten even more over the last four years. My so-called fiancé is always buying me stuffed animals since he knows I love them. I've got a whole zoo of them, including animals such as monkeys, cats, guinea pigs, frogs, turtles, chipmunks, birds, you name it. The most recent one is a really cute little guy who looks like a hamster or gerbil.

  16. Yes, I have stuffed animals, yes my 12 year old daughter has lots too, and YES, my 14 year old son makes no attempt to hide the love he has for his either. Yes, I possibly should help him hide it, but they stay in the comfort of his room. That possible book cover photo is great, and so special that you captured it yourself!

    1. Bert does kinda like to be macho, which is funny because he is also a puppet and when you squeeze him... he farts. :) Thanks! I hope you had a good Easter too!
