M is for Meme & Music

Memes of cats.  Totally my favorite. :)

One of my favorite books and cat pictures :)

And music!

I'm over half way through my current WIP (I already passed my goal for the month and I'm still going!) and I decided that I would share my writing playlist (music) with you.  It's a little random, but it actually helps me write. :)

Writing Playlist

1.  Gotta Go my Own Way - High School Musical 2 (Dorky, but I love the bridge of the song)
2.  Little House - Amanda Seyfried (from the movie Dear John)
3.  Somewhere Only We Know - Glee version (Darren Criss, I love his voice and his hair)
4.  Faithfully - Glee version
5.  To Sir With Love - Glee version
6.  You Keep Me Hanging On - Glee version
7.  I will always love you - Glee version
8.  Higher Window - Josh Groban
9.  Voce Existe Em Mim - Josh Groban
10.  Prologue - Beauty and the Beast (I absolutely love this beginning!  It's so wonderfully written!)
11.  When I Look at You - Miley Cyrus (don't judge me - I really love this song)
12.  May It Be - Enya
13.  I'll Be (Acoustic version) - Edwin McCain
14.  Come What May - Moulin Rouge
15.  The Hill - Glen Hansard (from the movie "Once" - I didn't like the plot, but the music was beautiful)
16.  Shadowland - The Lion King (Broadway version)

Yes, that is the most random list of music ever, but it's my writing playlist and I like it. :)

Would any of those songs make it onto your playlist?

  1. Its barely even Saturday, aren't you on top of things! haha

I hear so many people say that they have a writing playlist and I get so jealous. I wish I could make a cool playlist and be like "this is what I listened to while writing it!" but I can't listen to anything but classical (and by classical I obviously mean howard shore's LOTR soundtrack..) when I'm writing. Words just mess me all up!

Great work with passing your goal. Can't wait to read the finished copy! ;)

    1. Haha, I actually have all of my posts done and scheduled.

It took me years to be able to listen to anything but classical when I write. Words messed me up too, but over time I've found that sometimes the words of a song will spark something in me and it'll give me inspiration to keep writing. :)

Thanks Katie! I think I'll be able to finish the first draft this month or next. :D

  2. I apologize for double commenting but I just noticed your Gandalf kitty and had to comment again because it made me laugh so hard! The boy and I are just about to turn on the extended editions, actually, haha!

    2. I think LOTR is always going to be playing when I come to your blog. It seems to be a pattern.
Boromir just died (we fell asleep so we restarted the movies tonight..)
When Gandalf fell (like 4 hours ago..) my first thought was Gandalf kitty, haha.

  5. The first picture is gas, the three kittens look slightly peeved and the pomeranian looks happy.
