September Goals

Another month has passed and summer is finally over!  It's time for my favorite season.  FALL.  I love yellow, orange, and red leaves falling from the trees in an almost constant trickle like rain.  It's so beautiful and fall really smells awesome.  The harvest is coming in and the air smells so fresh and just like fall.  I can almost smell the apple cider and pumpkin bread already. :)

Brach's Pumpkins - I love them and they are out! :)

Here's my goals from August:
* Write to 20,000 words on "Unless"
I made it to 21,101 words!  I wrote 9,976 words this month.  I didn't make it much over my goal, but I achieved it.  I'm really starting to get into this one and it's taking some twists that I didn't expect.  I'm not even sure how it will end!  I think I'm about 1/3 done with the first draft!

* Finish revising my query for "Nameless" and start sending them out
Done!  I am still revising, little by little, but I am starting to send out queries.  It's a difficult process, but I'm still imaging seeing my name in a bookstore.

* Read "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth
FAIL.  I still haven't finished this one!  I did start and I'm about 200 pages in.  I just haven't had time to finish and write and have a life.  I really want to read it!  I love Four. :)

* Read "The Secret Beneath Bleeker Avenue" by Nessa Toale
Done!  It was very good.  You can find my review here if you are interested.  I love supporting my other writer friends! :)

I did much better with my goals for August.  July stunk, but August was much more productive.  (Sorry, I really love Avengers and those gif files!)

Goals for September:

* Write to 30,000 words on "Unless"
This should bring me to half done with the first draft!  I want this one to be a bit longer than "Nameless", though I'm still tossing around the idea of making it a trilogy, but I'm not sure yet.

* Finish reading "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth

* Read "Not Your Average Fairytale" by Chantele Sedgwick
I'm very excited to read this one!  I've heard great things about it!

*  Buy "The Avengers" on DVD on September 25th
This has nothing to do with writing, but I love them and I want to own them, but I'll have to settle for the dvd of those pretty men. :)

How did your goals for August go?  What are your goals for September?

I will hopefully be catching up on all of your blogs soon! :)

  2. Sounds like you did great with your August goals. Congrats!

My goal last month was to complete Camp NaNo, and I'm happy to say that I did. :) I'm not sure yet what goals I'll set for this month.

That picture makes me so hungry. I love those things!

  3. I love winter, though in Ireland autumn (fall) and winter tend to blur into one extra long drizzly season.

You did great on your August goals. I'd make a list too, except I think it might make me want to cry!

    1. Really, winter? I think winter is too cold and snowy here. Fall is perfect with all of the leaves falling and barely chilly temperatures. :)

Thanks! I'm glad they went well. I hope your September goes well!

  4. Congrats on meeting (most of) your goals! The writing thing is awesome. I've been a huge slacker with it...but I've been reading a lot, so that counts, right? Maybe...?
