K is for Krista

Since I am made of Awesome Nerdness - this is a video blog post.  My first ever, so please try not to laugh at my awkwardness. :)  Also, sorry about the word vomit... making a video post is hard and I couldn't tell which side of the screen to show things because it was backwards... anyway, just watch!

Was is that bad?  Do we have any awkward thing in common?

Camp NaNoWriMo Update:                                (because I'm crazy and doing the A-Z and Nano!)
Title:  "Breathless"
Genre:  YA/NA Urban Fantasy
Goal:  30,000

Day Nine:  16,415

Meh, long stressful day and a bad headache.  I wrote 234 words.  Definitely not good, but hopefully I can make up some of it this weekend, though I have a women's retreat, so I probably won't get much done. :(

  1. You did a great job! I would feel awkward too. We have LOTR in common. I've not read that book by Lois Lowry, sounds interesting!

  4. I thought you came across as endearing and authentic. Not bad at all. I hate making videos. I never know where to look, how far away from the camera to be, etc. My daughter (13) LOVES Tamora Pierce, has read everything by her. I need to read one and see what it's all about.

And congrats on the wordcount. Pulling for you!

    1. Thanks Tia! :) You really should! I starting reading her books when I was fourteen and I love them still. Her stories are wonderful! You'd like them!

Thanks - I need to get my butt in gear to finish!

  6. LOL! I loved it. I know they are hard to do--I just did my first one when I got my PODs proof in the mail. It's like leaving a voice mail message. You have everything you want to say worked out in your head and then as soon as the "beep" sounds it flies out and you're left going, "Um..."

But you did great and it was nice "meeting" the person behind the emails! And I have a bag of those EXACT jelly beans in my desk drawer to munch on while I write!

    1. Thanks Michelle! It really is like leaving a voice mail - and it's hard!

I'm glad you got to "meet" me, the funny girl behind the emails! Hopefully you can see where some of my funny lines come from. :) I LOVE those jelly beans - they are the best! :)

  7. What a great idea for the letter K! I still haven't read THE GIVER but I love Lois Lowry's GOSSIMER and THE WILLOUGHBYS. And 234 words is nothing to feel bad about. I didn't write at all yesterday. It was a long day and I didn't sit down until 9:45pm. I hope to make up for it next week since I'm on vacation. Enjoy your retreat and good luck with CNNWM!

  8. That was a great vlog!

I love Tamora Pierce's books. Have you read the Beka Cooper series? Beka has to be one of my favorite female protagonists of all time.

  9. Yay! Congrats for doing a vlog, Krista! Many wouldn't dare (including me), but you did a good job. :) And it was nice getting to know you better. YES to Merlin. I have seen the last season, and let me tell you... EEEEK. Okay. Enough spoilers. :) And I was interested in your comment on THE GIVER. I felt the first book wrapped up nicely at the end, so I'm not enthused about reading the rest of the series.

    This was fun! :)
