NaNoWriMo is coming...

It's almost time. Almost time for the craziness known as NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month, where you have 30 days to write 50,000 words. It's crazy! But I love it. This will be my seventh NaNo. I've won four in November and two Camp NaNoWriMos. I'm super excited for another round of writing like a mad person!

If you are thinking of joining, join! There's no harm in trying. :) You are welcome to be my writing buddy!

I will be attempting my first YA Sci-Fi.I'm excited about it, though a bit nervous. Here's my blurb and the mock-cover of my NaNo novel - "Cold to the Touch":

Luna is just the girl who always wears gloves. She's always cold and dressed in jeans and long sleeves. Whoever bumps into her is left with an icy chill. No one touches her and she refuses all physical contact. Even her best friend, Quinn, knows better than to ask about her glove obsession and the lack of heat from her body.

Bentley is the star of the basketball team, even though he's new to the school. He doesn't date, despite his popularity and is always surrounded by his buddies. In PE class, Bentley is partnered with Luna for bad-mitten and is interested by the secluded girl. But she refuses to give him the time of day.

When their hands touch, Bentley and Luna shove each other back. He is desperate to know what happened, but Luna runs away. Bentley has to find out what happened and he wants to tell his secret. Luna will have to trust him or settle with being alone.

Good luck if you are doing NaNoWriMo - I am there with you! If you're not, be prepared for some craziness ahead!

  1. I did a Nano novel a few years ago that turned into my first full-length novel. It's been shelved, but it marks my rededication to writing after years of putting it aside for schooling. This year, I'm trying it again! I have a rough idea of the novel I want to write, just haven't decided if I want to make it YA or Adult, which obviously changes the storyline somewhat! Are you coming down to Des Moines for any write-ins? We should plan something!

    1. I've thought of changing mine to NA, but I write YA much better. I haven't decided if I am going to any Des Moines write-ins, but you might be able to persuade me. I'd love to do a write-in. :)
