May Goals

It's finally spring! Meaning where I live, it has literally rained for 4 days in a row. And when it wasn't raining, it was drizzling. Yes, we need the moisture, but I miss the sunshine. I could never live somewhere where it rains all the time. I'd get depressed.

Congratulations to everyone who undertook the A - Z Blogging Challenge last month and the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo! I finished my novel on April 29th, so I barely made it, but I had a busy month, so I didn't do much blogging. Which leads us to an update with my monthly goals! If you're new, I post my goals around the 1st of every month to give myself goals to achieve and focus my writing/reading.

Here are my goals from April:
* Write to 30,000 words on "Cursed" for the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo

* Read "Sidelined" by Kyra Lennon
Unfortunately, I didn't get to this one, but it is on the top of my list to read next!

One out of two goals. Not bad, but not what I hoped. BUT-- I did write a new book last month and I realized yesterday that I read TEN books last month! Don't believe me? Let me share which books I read! :)

 Alanna by Tamora Pierce
King Sized Beds & Happy Trails by Becca Ann and Tessa Marie
In the Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce
Beach Side Beds & Sandy Paths by Becca Ann and Tessa Marie
The Woman Who Rides Like a Man by Tamora Pierce
Heaven is For Real by Todd Burpo
Lioness Rampant by Tamora Pierce
Choose Us by Caylie Moore
Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce

Half of them were re-reads, but they still count as reading! Some days you just want to sit down and read a familiar book. :) Anyway, all of the purple books are ones I've read before. It's a LOT of Tamora Pierce, who happens to be one of my favorite authors and I haven't reread her books in a while, but I did read new books too! I think it's kinda funny I read an old book, then a new book, then an old book, and repeated the pattern all month. (That is the order I read those books this month.)

Goals for May:
* Complete first round of revisions for Camp NaNo novel, Silent Beauty
This is the first book I'm actually itching to start revising, though I want to give myself a few days before diving in. I normally hate editing, so we'll see how this goes!

* Read "Sidelined" by Kyra Lennon

* Take a vacation
I'm finally taking a few days off from both jobs and I'm going to take a short road trip to Wisconsin with my best friend to see our other best friend! I'm ready to see her and to take a break from life for a few days! :)

How did your goals from April go? If you did either big event last month, I hope you can get some time to rest and relax! You deserve it!

  1. Ten books has to be some kind of record. Good luck with this month's goals. The vacation one should be a snap, right?

  5. You achieved a lot! I think it's great you want to dive straight into editing, you must love it. However, a few days rest and holiday are just what the doctor ordered after a CampNaNo session, I think. :)

I also need to read Sidelined, so thanks for the reminder!
