4 Year Blogiversary / GIVEAWAY!

Four years of blogging. That can't be correct. But it is! I started this blog on July 7th, 2010. So, today I am celebrating 4 years of writing and blogging! No better way to celebrate than with a giveaway and a little recap!

Four years ago, I had one poorly written novel under my belt. Seriously, it was all kinds of awful and I self-published it, which is just embarrassing. I posted only a few times that first year, and they were lame posts because I thought I knew what I was doing. I can happily say I have no idea what I'm doing and I love it. :) It's taken some time, but I've written ten novels and I'm working on my eleventh! Here's a brief snapshot of them.

Falling Star - YA Christian Fiction
Down in the Creek - YA Christian Fiction
To Love Without Hope - YA Christian Fiction
The Secret - YA Christian Fiction
Nameless - YA Epic Fantasy
The Freaks (Book One) - YA Urban Fantasy
The Damned (Book Two) - YA Urban Fantasy
Breathless - YA Contemporary Romance
Somebody to Love - YA Epic Fantasy
Silent Beauty - YA Contemporary Romance
Sweet Little Thing - YA Contemporary Romance (WIP)

I've tried a few genres of writing and I really like writing contemporary romance and fantasy, though who knows where I will be in another 4 years! The red ones are shelved at this time, while the one highlighted is the one I have published. (Side note: I have a serious problem with exclamations in this post.) I'm hoping to have more published by next year, but we will have to see.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

* Sorry, but due to not having a ton of money, my prizes aren't incredibly special, but I decided to give away 4 smaller gift cards to share with more than one person! (Physical books copies will only be sent to U.S. addresses due to shipping costs.)

What different genres have you tried writing before finding one you liked? How long have you been blogging? Thanks for celebrating 4 years of blogging with me and I can't wait to see what happens in the next four years! :)

  1. Congratulations on 4 years of blogging! That's impressive! Yeah, I don't really know what I'm doing either, but that knowledge leaves us open to learning new things. Hopefully the next 4 years will bring you many great things!

    1. I love blogging because it gives me a sense of community. I didn't have a lot of friends I could talk about writing with before I started blogging. I started two and a half years ago, and it was the best decision I've ever made.

  2. I love it because it keeps my family up to date but since my son was born I've been slacking on my blog. I need to start it back up

  5. Congrats Krista! 4 years is an awesome milestone! Now I'm trying to remember how long I've been blogging and I'm not sure. I think it's 3 or 4 years in August, but I have to remember that I had a few months on hiatus. :) I love all the positive energy rolling around in here, especially from writers. It's such a fantastic way to learn and have support. I love it!

  7. Whewee! 4 years? That's awesome. Congrats to the 1000th degree!

I've been blogging on and off since 2008, and as far as genres? What haven't I tried? (That's the easier question.) I've got 30+ projects in varying stages waiting to see the light of day, although there are definitely some genres I will never publish. (Just not that comfortable/confident with them.)

    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  8. Congrats! 4 years is a long time to stick at it. And that's an impressive body of work too. Switching around genres keeps things interesting. I've tried thrillers, sci-fi and dystopian, but nothing was planned. It's just fun to see what happens!

Coming up for 3 years of blogging and I love it because writing is a lonely gig and it's fun to share.

Also, I just wanted to say that I read Breathless on holiday last week and wanted to congratulate you on that also. A quick, effortless read, but with a lot of depth too. I'll have a review up soon, just trying to clear my backlog!
