Breaking the Block

I'm over my writer's block. And when I say finally, I mean it. I've not written anything yet this year. I've done a lot of hard revisions, which I'm very happy about but I couldn't get my brain out of revision mode. It was like my brain was completely stuck.

It wouldn't stop just wanting to revise.

But I've been throwing around an idea for a YA Contemporary, but I couldn't find any motivation to write it. I finally started writing it today after having one page on my computer for a month. I made a list about the main character, Lexi's family and plotted out their characters. It really helped me!

I only have two chapters and about 3,000 words, but I have a new novel to write. It's tentatively called "Just About Average". It's about a girl named Lexi, who is fighting with her best friend of 13 years. Tristan believed a horrible rumor spread around school and instead of coming to her, he ignored Lexi and hurt her by not sticking up for her. But there's even more truth to the rumor that Lexi is hiding and it's very painful for her. She's in love with her best friend who broke her heart and she doesn't know how to fix their friendship. I'm happy with how it is going so far! This is the first novel I've written where the main character has a lot of family members and I'm excited to mix them into the story. It's hopefully going to be great! :)

Have a great weekend and happy writing! :)
