Kicking my Butt!

My WIP is kicking my butt. I can't do it.

 But I want to.

Yet, I can't.

I've been stuck at about 15k on my novel for three weeks now. I've written 12 words here or there, but usually I lose ten words every time I write because the last sentence I wrote... sucked. I need to stop fixing what I've written and finish this draft. This draft has been a tough one. My goal is to write to 30k this month. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it, but I'll try to get something written soon.

I can say that I'm doing a little more reading this month! I got 2 new ARCs from Netgalley and I can't wait to read them!! :) How's your month going so far? :)

I am Thor

Yes, I am excited to announce that I'm now THOR over at YAvengers!

The lovely Darci Cole has stepped aside to join another group and I am her replacement as Thor, God of Thunder. I will be posting about writing and publishing, along with Captain America, Phil Coulson, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, and Loki. I'm so excited to be joining them! It's like my first real writing thing with a bunch of awesome writers. (I hope that doesn't make me seem lame.) In preparation, I even downloaded 30 gifs of Thor! I'm ready.

Hopefully I will be doing a post with Darci toward the end of this month and I'll let you know when it is posted!

Thor. Yep, I'm mighty. :)

IWSG - Finding time...

Today is another meeting of The Insecure Writer's Support Group, which posts on the first Wednesday of every month and is run by our Ninja Captain Alex Cavanaugh. This is a place where writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds. The awesome co-hosts today are M. Pax, Tracy Jo, Patricia Lynne, Rachna Chhabria, Feather Stone, and Randi Lee!

I'm struggling to find time and motivation for writing lately. I did an entire rewrite in April, but the month of May.... I only wrote 1k. I work two jobs, but I only work one in the summer, which I'm hoping will help.

After spending days where I'd work ten hours between my two jobs or more, it was hard to find motivation to do anything other than get home and binge watch Netflix. (On the up side, I've watched all of M*A*S*H. Wonderful series!) I also want to find more time for blogging and reading blogs! I feel like I've kinda fallen off the blogosphere, but I want to be here. :)

I just need to make more time. Maybe I should get a Time-Turner... How do you balance life and writing time? :)

June Goals

I can honestly say that I didn't get much done last month! I know today is the day for an update in my goals, but I didn't get much writing done at all last month. And I'm okay with that. :) I had a busy last few weeks at my preschool job before summer started, getting the kids through graduation and trying to keep their active little minds focused. I'll miss them, but I'm ready for a nice summer break.

Here are my goals from May:
* Write to 30,000 on new novel, "Just About Average"
I only wrote 1,000 words. Oops. I tried? Words are still words. :)

* Begin revisions for "Nothing Left to Lose"

* Read "Play On (Game On Book 4)" by Kyra Lennon

Yep, I wasn't even close to achieving my goals. But I'm okay with that. :) I only read three books, but I'm okay with that! (The ones in purple are rereads.) :)

Play On (Game On, #4) by Kyra Lennon
Wolf-Speaker (Immortals, #2) by Tamora Pierce
Emperor Mage (Immortals, #3) by Tamora Pierce

Goals for June:
* Read "Fraction of Earth" by Kelley Lynn

* Write to 30,000 on "Just About Average"

* Go to my childhood friend's wedding :)

I hope your goals from May went well! I'm looking for to my June goals!!
